6 Crime Fiction Featuring Private Investigators
There’s something about the mercenary quality of a private investigator that enthralls thriller lovers. It’s like, when the law fails its job, you call in these guys to clean up their mess… and while they have to work within the restraints of the law as well, at this point they’re more like guidelines, right? Anyway, if you love a great mystery getting solved by a private detective, this list is the place to start hunting for your next favorite thriller.
It’s 1970 in LA, and Ezekiel “Easy” Rawlins is the city’s premier Black detective, even at 50 years old. His personal life is great, and so is his personal life. Until Amethystine Stoller shows up from his past, wanting Easy to investigate her ex-husband who has gone missing. As soon as he starts, he falls back into the past. He’s trying to right himself, solve the case, and keep everything at home afloat all at once… and it’s a tall order.
Jane Murphy is killing it at her New York media marketing startup, particularly with Jeremy Miller’s experimental book, which she markets by equally experimental means, developing a viral internet novel through fragments on social media accounts. Her personal life is not quite thriving though, especially when there’s so much she has to keep hidden, even as her and Jeremy’s relationship grows into something more personal[MM1] .
[MM1]This book hasn’t released yet and it doesn’t have any reviews, so I couldn’t really find the connection between its summary and private investigators.
