5 Clever Suspense Novels
In real life, I love being right all along, but when I’m reading a thriller or watching crime fiction, I prefer for the writing to be one step ahead of me the whole time. If you’re like me and you love a clever suspense novel, here’s a short list of new books to investigate:
For a locked-room mystery murder set in the Scottish Highlands, this book should be your first stop! Superstar American author Brett Saffron Presley bought the historical Castle Kinloch years ago to lure literary tourists toward its glamor, but when Presley’s found dead in the tower’s study after he skipped the traditional folk dancing party, Detective Chief Inspector Euan McIntosh gets statements from all the guests in an attempt to solve the murder… and there are a lot of potential suspects.
In 1965, teenage Frances hears a country fair fortune that predicts one day she will be murdered. As is typical with those who hear prophecies of doom, Frances spends her whole life trying to protect herself from being killed. When Frances is finally murdered nearly sixty years later, her great niece Annie Adams has to unravel the mystery of her death.
